Day 1 Arrive Christchurch
On arrival into Christchurch collect your vehicle at the airport and make your way to the hotel.
Day 2 Christchurch - Mount Cook
Travel today to Mt Cook, the location of the worlds largest International Dark Sky reserve. Enjoy a visit to the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre designed to educate and entertain.
Day 3 Mount Cook - Queenstown
Depart Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. Pass through the fruit growing region of Cromwell and the historic gold mining region of the rugged Kawarau Gorge prior to arriving into Queenstown.
Day 4 Queenstown - Milford Sound - Queenstown
A day trip to Milford Sound is a touring highlight while in New Zealand. Milford Sound is regarded as one of our most scenic locations with dramatic high mountain sides plunging into the depths of the Fiord. It is even more spectacular when it is raining, as hundreds of waterfalls descend over the craggy rocks. Following the included cruise travel back along the Milford Highway stopping at the small lakeside town of Te Anau before continuing back to Queenstown
Day 5 Queenstown at Leisure
Explore the many sights and activities in the Queenstown region. Take a thrilling jet boat ride with Shotover Jet or cruise across the lake to enjoy a BBQ dinner at historic Walter Peak Sheep Station travelling on TSS earnslaw. Included is a ride on the Gondola to the Skyline Complex which provides wide reaching views across the Wakatipu Basin and beyond.
Day 6 Queenstown - The Glaciers
Departing Queenstown journey through the rugged Kawarau Gorge to the townships of Cromwell and Wanaka, descend down the Haast Pass, along the Haast river to the village of Haast. Continue north along the West Coast's rugged coastline until reaching the Glaciers today's destination. Included is admission to The Glacier Hot Pools located in Franz Josef.
Day 7 The Glaciers - Greymouth - Christchurch
Travel north to Greymouth and then cross the stunning Southern Alps to Christchurch. You have the option of travelling on the The Tranz Alpine Train (additional cost).
Day 8 Depart Christchurch
Today return your rental car to Christchurch Airport before departing.
