Day 1 Arrive Christchurch

On arrival into Christchurch collect your vehicle at the airport and make your way to the hotel.

Day 2 Christchurch - Southern Alps - Glaciers

Travel from Christchurch across the vast Canterbury Plains before climbing the Southern Alps, then descend through the lush beech rain forest to the West Coast town of Greymouth. You may choose the Tranz Alpine Train journey as an option (additional cost). From Greymouth journey south along the rugged West Coast to the Glacier region and overnight in either Franz Josef or Fox Glacier. Tonight receive entry to the Franz Josef Glacier Hot Pools.

Day 3 Glaciers - Queenstown

One of New Zealand's most spectacular touring days. The scenery changes from wild West Coast beaches and abundant rainforest to vast mountain vistas and then to the Southern Lakes District. Arrive in Queenstown for a 3 night stay.

Day 4 & 5 Queenstown at Leisure

Two full days to explore the many sights and activities in the Queenstown region. Perhaps a jet boat ride with Shotover Jet or dinner at historic Walter Peak Sheep Station travelling on TSS Earnslaw. We have included a ride on the Gondola to the Skyline Complex which will give you wide-ranging views across the Wakatipu Basin and beyond. We also suggest while you are in Queenstown to take an optional journey to Milford Sound with real Journeys. There are a number of packages to either coach or fly into Milford Sound which includes a cruise to the edge of the Tasman Sea. Pre booking recommended.

Day 6 Queenstown / Mt Cook /Christchurch

Travel to Christchurch via the Mackenzie Country and Mt Cook region. Time allows you to explore the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre at the Mt Cook Village before continuing north past Lake Tekapo and onto Christchurch where you will overnight before your departure.

Day 7 Depart Christchurch

Today return your rental car to Christchurch Airport before departing.
