Day 1 Arrive Auckland
On arrival into Auckland International Airport passengers collect their rental vehicle and make their way to their hotel.
Day 2 Auckland - Coromandel Peninsula
Today enjoy a stunning drive along the Pacific Coast Highway. experience an ocean-flavoured journey into Thames. The journey to Coromandel will treat passengers to spectacular coastal and ocean views framed by beautiful beaches. Having explored the gold-mining town of Coromandel continue the drive towards Whitianga.
Day 3 Whitianga
Breathe the fresh ocean breeze that is Whitianga. Whilst in Whitianga perhaps enjoy a cruise on the Glass Bottom Boat, visit the popular Hot Water Beach and dig your very own spa pool in the sand. For the keen fishermen there are fishing charters available, or, for those just wishing to relax, take time to explore, the many shops and galleries.
Day 4 Whitianga - Hobbiton - Rotorua
Today enjoy a drive back across the Coromandel Peninsula towards Paeroa and Te Aroha on the Hauraki Plains before arriving at Matamata for your Hobbiton Movie Set Tour. Continue on to one of New Zealand's greatest cultural hot spots - Rotorua. This evening enjoy a Maori Hangi (feast) and Cultural Performance with Tamaki Maori Village.
Day 5 Rotorua Sightseeing
Four major attractions are included with your Rotorua sightseeing. Begin with a visit to Te Puia Thermal Reserve where you will see boiling mud pools and steaming geysers, before heading to Rainbow Springs for a chance to learn about New Zealand’s native bush and maybe see our native bird – the Kiwi. A visit to Rotorua is not complete without experiencing the Agrodome to learn about our farming heritage with an entertaining farm show and finally we include a Gondola pass to Skyline Rotorua to enjoy the wide vistas and maybe ride the Luge (optional extra). The remainder of the afternoon is free to enjoy Rotorua at leisure. We suggest booking a scenic flight with Volcanic Air (optional extra).
Day 6 Rotorua - Waitomo - Auckland
Enjoy a day drive from Rotorua to Auckland through lush rolling farm land to the mystical Waitomo Glow-worm Caves where a guided tour through the galleries and lofty chambers of the Caves awaits. The tour culminates with a boat ride through the Glow-worm Grotto - lit up by thousands of tiny living lights. Continue the journey north to Auckland.
Day 7 Depart Auckland
Passengers today will return their rental car to the Auckland Airport prior to departure.
